On May 20, 2025, a working meeting took place in Košice between the Technical University of Košice – EDIH Cassovium and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences from Finland, representing EDIH FAIR. The main topic of the joint discussion was the potential for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, focusing on the provision of AI services for small and medium-sized enterprises in the upcoming programming period 2026–2028.

The Finnish partners presented their client engagement system – from initial needs analysis to the implementation of specific AI solutions. They also shared their experience with building and operating the AI Factory in connection with the LUMI supercomputer, the most powerful computing system in Europe. The AI Factory represents an innovative environment where technologies, experts, and innovations converge to deliver tangible outcomes for businesses and society.

The discussion also addressed topics such as:

  • AI help desk and support services for SMEs
  • Evaluation and diagnostic tools for AI implementation
  • Data security in AI solutions
  • New tools like Google Agent Space and Google Workspace for efficient AI use

Representatives of EDIH Cassovium expressed interest in visiting Finland in August 2025. The goal of the visit will be to gain deeper insights into EDIH FAIR’s services, meet AI experts, and visit CSC – IT Center for Science, which forms a key infrastructure in the field of computational science and artificial intelligence.

The common goal of both centers is to strengthen European cooperation, share proven approaches, and develop practical AI solutions that help SMEs innovate and grow more effectively.

At EDIH Cassovium, we see this collaboration as a valuable opportunity with real benefits for our region and for the broader European innovation ecosystem.
