On March 4–5, 2025, the conference Digital and Circular Transformation of Manufacturing SMEs took place in the Hungarian city of Szombathely, including professional company visits. The event was organized as part of the SMART CIRCUIT project, with the main goal of presenting sustainable and digital solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises in the manufacturing sector.
Representatives of EDIH Cassovium, based at TUKE, actively participated in the program. The conference included meetings with other European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs):
PBN EDIH Hungary – presented the digitalization hub am-LAB, which focuses on research and innovation in industrial digitalization. Discussions took place regarding collaboration and the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to share experience in ecological sustainability.
DIGIMAT EDIH Czechia – a discussion with manager Veronika Večerová focused on opportunities for joint development of digitalization services. The Czech partner also invited EDIH Cassovium to the Testbed Open Days in Brno, scheduled for May 30, 2025.
The professional visits included a tour of the am-LAB laboratory and the company FALCO Wood Industry, which effectively applies the principles of the circular economy.
The conference provided a platform for exchanging experiences and establishing new partnerships that will contribute to the development of innovative solutions in industrial digitalization and ecological sustainability.
