On Thursday, January 19, 2023, UVP TECHNICOM hosted the half-day Initial Meeting of the EDIH CASSOVIUM Project Team. The EDIH CASSOVIUM consortium consists of the following partner organizations: the Technical University of Košice (TUKE, as project coordinator), Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (UPJŠ), and the Košice IT Valley cluster. Within TUKE, the project is managed by UVP TECHNICOM.
The meeting was attended by over 30 team members from all three consortium partners and focused on introducing the project, its goals, and its structure. František Jakab, the General Manager of the project, opened the meeting with a presentation on the need for digital transformation and the general concept of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs). The next part of the program was dedicated to a detailed presentation of the project and its components (work packages). The final part of the meeting included a practical assessment of the current status and upcoming tasks. An important highlight was the finalization of the project’s first deliverables (Dissemination and Communication Plan and Branding Guide).
EDIH CASSOVIUM is part of the European network of Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH). The European Commission, in its effort to enhance the sustainable competitiveness of the European Union (EU), is implementing the Digital Europe (DIGITAL) grant program, which has established a network of over 200 EDIHs covering all EU regions. Five centers have been selected in Slovakia, composed of renowned institutions with high-level expertise in various professional fields. EDIH CASSOVIUM is one of them.
The mission of EDIHs is to support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises and public institutions by guiding them through innovation processes and developing the skills necessary for implementation. EDIHs act as one-stop shops that help build technological capabilities, provide know-how, and support businesses in maintaining competitiveness.
The goal of EDIH CASSOVIUM is to help businesses and public organizations—especially in the eastern Slovak region—enhance their competitiveness and efficiency through the innovative use of green digital technologies.
