On April 29, 2025, the Business Conference: Innovation, Digitalization, Challenges and Grants was held at UVP TECHNICOM in Košice, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The event was organized by the Ministry of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic (MIRRI SR) in cooperation with the Technical University of Košice.

The main objective of the conference was to support entrepreneurs in the region in their innovation and digitalization efforts. Participants learned more about current grant schemes, opportunities for support from EU funds, as well as specific steps for brand protection and international business expansion.

The conference included a panel of expert presentations and discussions. Contributions were made by representatives from the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic, SARIO, the National Coalition for Digital Skills and Jobs, the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, AmCham Slovakia, and other relevant institutions.

EDIH Cassovium in Action

The EDIH Cassovium consortium actively participated in the conference. We presented our service offerings, provided consultations, and informed attendees about opportunities for free digital maturity assessments for businesses. We also showcased specific examples of successful collaborations between the university and regional companies.

At our booth, together with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), we provided entrepreneurs with comprehensive advisory services. The combination of EDIH and EEN services proved to be an effective way to assist companies with ambitions to grow and expand beyond the borders of Slovakia.

Networking and New Collaborations

The conference was attended by more than 70 participants, approximately half of whom were representatives of SMEs. The event provided a platform for exchanging experiences, gaining inspiration, and building new partnerships between the public and private sectors.

We are pleased that EDIH Cassovium could be part of this event and we believe that through such activities, we will continue to move Slovak businesses closer to a digital future.
