On February 4, 2025, an expert meeting took place between Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University of Košice (TUKE). The main focus of the meeting was to present the activities of both European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) and to identify opportunities for collaboration between EDIH CASSOVIUM and the Finnish AI region (FAIR EDIH).

In the opening part of the program, Miroslav Michalko and Zuzana Fedáková introduced the services provided by EDIH CASSOVIUM to their Finnish counterparts. This was followed by discussions with TUKE researchers on the potential for professional cooperation, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) and supercomputing. They explored opportunities for collaboration with the Finnish LUMI supercomputer and the upcoming Slovak HPC Perún, both of which have the potential to become part of the European Commission’s AI Factories initiative.

The meeting concluded with a visit to an ecosystem industry partner – Siemens Healthineers in Košice. During the visit, experts discussed the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare and the development of advanced solutions in this field.

FAIR EDIH provides services to support the digital and green transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on an open, transparent, and non-discriminatory basis. Its primary focus is AI, but it also offers expertise in cybersecurity, high-performance computing (HPC), and extended reality (XR).
