EDIH stands for European Digital Innovation Hubs, the equivalent of Slovakia’s ECDI (European Centres for Digital Innovation).
EDIHs are contact points formed by independent organizations or consortia with a shared mission: to support companies and institutions in their digital and technological development, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of cities, regions, and countries.
The role of EDIHs is to provide a range of services including consulting, training, testing of new technologies and innovations, data access, collaboration with other organizations, and support for the transition to digital solutions.
In essence, EDIH CASSOVIUM is a specific consortium within the ECDI initiative, supported and co-funded by the European Union, aiming to boost the digital competitiveness of enterprises and institutions.
The EDIH Network is coordinated through the Digital Transformation Accelerator (DTA), which, in cooperation with the European Commission, creates opportunities for interaction and collaboration among EDIHs, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the public sector.
SMEs stands for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. These businesses represent a vital part of the economy in many countries and possess specific characteristics that distinguish them from large corporations and enterprises.
SMEs are generally classified based on criteria such as the number of employees, turnover, net profit, or other financial indicators. These criteria may vary depending on the country and economic sector.
Digital transformation is a process implemented by organizations and companies to leverage modern digital technologies for improving and innovating their business processes, services, products, and overall strategy.
This transformation involves changing the way organizations operate to become more efficient, competitive, and responsive to rapid changes in today’s world.
Digitalization also enables the creation of new products and services, as well as the development of new business models.
As a consortium made up of three members, our team operates from multiple locations. EDIH CASSOVIUM is officially based at the campus of the Technical University of Košice, specifically in the University Science Park TECHNICOM, located at Němcovej 5, 040 01 Košice. The de minimis scheme is a form of state aid granted to small and medium-sized enterprises across various sectors. It is based on the assumption that aid below a certain threshold does not distort trade or competition within the European Union.
The total amount of aid granted under this scheme may not exceed EUR 200,000 over a period of the last three years.
