Cybersecurity is a crucial topic for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). How can cyberattacks be prevented, and what steps should be taken if a security incident occurs? These were the key questions addressed during the workshop at SlovakiaTech 2024, attended by IT and cybersecurity professionals.
The workshop, led by Pavol Sokol, Head of the Academic Security Team at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, focused on practical aspects of cyber protection. Participants were divided into teams to tackle real-world cyber incident scenarios. During the exercises, they learned how to effectively stop the spread of an attack, communicate with third parties, assess the impact, and propose appropriate security measures.
The workshop’s hands-on approach enabled attendees to gain not only theoretical knowledge but also practical experience that they can apply within their companies. The strong interest in this topic shows that SMEs are increasingly aware of the importance of being prepared for potential cyberattacks.
We thank all participants for their active engagement and hope they took away valuable insights and tools to help strengthen cybersecurity within their organizations.
Cyber threats are a reality of today’s digital world, but with the right approach and preparedness, risks can be minimized and incidents effectively managed.
