How can Slovak industry and the public sector prepare for the digital and green transformation? That was one of the key questions addressed by participants at the Digital Future conference, held on June 19, 2025, in Košice. The event was part of the national project Digital Skills for the Green Future of Slovakia, focused on developing competencies essential for the current wave of technological and environmental change.
More than 200 professionals from industry, municipalities, and public authorities attended the conference. EDIH Cassovium was actively involved in the program, showcasing its portfolio of services tailored to SMEs and the public sector.
Twin transition requires a dual approach
The conference was designed as a series of expert seminars, organized in parallel morning and afternoon sessions. Topics covered key areas of transformation – from automation and robotics, energy efficiency, cybersecurity, to smart energy systems and data value enhancement. Each session was led by a recognized expert with extensive experience in the respective field.
Participants were encouraged to engage actively – ask questions, share challenges, and explore practical solutions. The overarching goal was to help organizations understand how to respond to evolving market demands and increase their resilience through digital and green innovation.
EDIH Cassovium – a partner in transformation
Throughout the day, EDIH Cassovium representatives were present at an information booth and participated in a panel discussion. Visitors learned about the hub’s specific services, including digital maturity assessment, individual consultations, and support options for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region.
During the panel discussion, Juraj Girman highlighted the importance of ecosystem collaboration and shared examples of how EDIH Cassovium supports companies across Eastern Slovakia in their digital transformation journey.
Collaboration among EDIHs as a key theme
The event also served as a platform to strengthen cooperation between Slovak EDIHs. Mutual alignment, knowledge exchange, and service coordination are essential steps in reinforcing the national innovation infrastructure and ensuring regional balance in digital transformation support.
