AI Makes Sense in a Library Too
EDIH Cassovium has brought digital innovation to environments where many might not expect it. One such example is the collaboration with Knižnica pre mládež mesta Košice, where we supported the team in using artificial intelligence effectively in their daily work.
Lenka Šafránová, dramaturge of educational and cultural programs, describes the concrete impact of this collaboration. As she explains, most of the team had previously worked with AI rather intuitively. The results reflected this imprecise inputs led to imprecise outputs. The training provided by EDIH Cassovium brought a fundamental shift. The team learned how to formulate prompts correctly, what factors to consider when working with AI, and how to fully leverage these tools. As a result, they now use new technologies much more consciously and effectively in their everyday work.
At the same time, the Knižnica pre mládež mesta Košice is not just a place to borrow books. For over 70 years, it has served as a vibrant cultural and educational center for different generations. Through its activities, it shows that reading and learning are an essential part of everyday life, and today, digital skills are naturally becoming part of that as well. An important aspect of the collaboration was also the team itself. It consists of people with diverse levels of experience from advanced AI users to those for whom AI was entirely new. Joint learning helped bridge these gaps, creating space for everyone to grow, both individually and as a team.
This example once again shows that digital transformation is not only about technology, but above all about people, their skills, and their willingness to learn new things.
